I live in British Columbia, Canada. On Oct. 26, 2018 I received an odd text from this number 50375479761, and all it said was "To accept new terms & conditions, visit: https://s.id/2m9HD for details. I typed in that address on my computer (not my phone) and it took me to a fake (I'm sure) Interac e-transfer page that said the following:
To continue using our services without any interruptions our customers are required to accept our new terms and conditions. Follow the link bellow to select your financial institution and complete the process. (Notice they spelled 'below" incorrectly.) Accept Terms & Conditions: (Select a financial institution) <-- This was a button that I did not click on. Expires: November 25, 2018 FAQs | This is a secure transaction (lock) © 2000 - 2018 Interac Corp. All rights reserved. Terms of Use ® Trade-marks of Interac Corp. Email or text messages carry the notice while the financial institutions securely transfer the data using existing secured networks. Interac Corp. Royal Bank Plaza, North Tower, 200 Bay Street, Suite 2400 P.O. Box 45, Toronto, ON M5J 2J1 www.interac.ca So, because it says "To continue using our services" and I've never used their "service" at all before, I knew this had to be a scam.
