I had this number contact me. I am an apprentice and they knew my full name, number and course details. That's all the information they disclosed to me so I was concerned into who they were as my college had advised me that they were not associated with my college. I managed to contact the company behind the number (IFF Research) and found they were not a threat at all. They are a government funded independent company who take surveys and research on the government's behalf. For instance, they contacted me to see whether my apprenticeship was going well in averaging answers to conclude whether or not the apprenticeship scheme is working. They get all their information from a service called ILR who legally give out only your name, number and course (in an education scenario) in order to run these surveys. The reason they only call on the weekend is so that (supposidly) you will be truthful about your experiences without the pressure of your employers being there.
I contacted 020 7250 3035 and began to ask queries where they forwarded the call onto their research manager who answered my questions. I then furthered the conversation onto whether you can blacklist you number in which you can. I would suggest doing so if you wish not to be contacted like I did.

In final conclusion Do Not Panic. This company are oddly legit and legal. You can get rid of them if you need to, and are safe to answer any questions. However I would suggest not to give out to much information about your employers etc as I am not sure to the extent of information they may try to sell. Stay Safe out there.
